la pizza di tartufo

pizza verace napoletana: the meaning is simple – true neapolitan pizza

pizza was considered the poor man’s food, until 1889 when raffaele esposito was summoned by the royal house of naples to make a pizza for the queen margherita.

he came up with a pizza that resembled the italian flag, green (basil), white (mozzarella) and red (tomato). he then called this pizza margherita.

la margherita has since then become the most famous pizza in the world.

following in the footsteps of the brandi, da michele and trianon tradition (three of the most famous pizzeria in the world) and of course the fact that I was born and raised in naples, at tartufo I have realized my life long passion, pizza!

the ingredients we use are of the best quality and we are looking forward to receiving the accreditation of avpn, a world association guaranteeing pizza authenticity.

our pizza is cooked between 30 to 60 seconds and it is to be eaten immediately. the cordone (outer crust), whilst a lot of people don’t eat it, we recommend you do.

buon appetito
